Victorian Niello Silver Triangles Locket bakelite Birmingham 1989DATE: Victorian, c. 1880 A striking Victorian oval locket crafted in niello silver. Somewhat unusual given how convex the outer case is, coupled with its ever so slightly diminutive size. The surface sports rows of alternating black and silver triangles to create a pleasing geometric effect, especially as the curve drops off towards the edges. It dates from the latter half of the 19th century, circa 1880. MEASUREMENTS 3. 1 x 2. 2 x 1. 2cm (not
